No! At Janko, we do not do credit checks as a part of our assessment. We complete our assessment using your bank account transaction history.

Yes! As we do not conduct credit checks, we assess each applicant based on the history displayed within their bank statements. As long as we can see that you’re managing your money well, we can consider the application.
Will you call my employer?
At Janko, we will not contact your employment during the application.
I’m having trouble applying.
We only accept applications online via our website. After you have confirmed that you are connected to the internet, checks these common issues:
Mobile Number Verification: Ensure you’ve entered in the correct mobile number. The only format we accept is ‘0412345678’. Follow the on-page instructions if you need to update the mobile number. You must verify your mobile to proceed with the application.
Email verification: Triple check that your email address is spelt correctly. If in doubt, copy and paste your email address from your email provider. We do not send you an email, but we do ping your email to ensure it is correct.
Submitting a digital bank statement: You need to use the same details you use for internet banking. Do not use the details you use to log into your bank app. An easy test to check if you are using the correct login details would be to go to your bank, log in via the bank website and see if you can log into your internet banking.

How do I pay my loan back?
Loan repayments are automatically set up to be made via direct debit, which means you won’t have to worry about remembering to make the repayment yourself! Just make sure you leave enough funds in your account.
How can I check on my repayments?
For information about your repayments, including getting a statement or schedule, the easiest way to do this is via our online customer portal.
When are payments taken from my account
Our repayments will be automatically direct debited from your account following the contracted schedule, which will often be in line with your pay cycle. Due to the nature of direct debits, we cannot confirm the exact time when these payments will be taken. As a rule of thumb, we recommend that you leave enough funds in your account throughout the entire day they are set to be taken.
I need to make changes to my loan.
This isn’t an issue. Using Janko’s online customer portal, you can adjust the repayment cycle of your loan and update personal information. If you are experiencing financial hardship, please refer to our hardship policies.
I missed a repayment.
If a repayment has declined and you’re looking to make it up, you can make extra payments through the online customer portal. If you’re not able to amend the amount, please keep in mind that the loan term will extend to account for this.
What is financial hardship?
If you are under financial hardship, please contact us as soon as possible. We may be able to vary your contract to help you repay your debt.
How many loans can I have at a time?
You can only have one active loan at a time with Janko. Once you pay off a loan, you are more than welcome to re-apply should you need additional funds.
Can I have more than one Janko loan?
No, we allow you to have one loan at a time, once you have settled your outstanding balance you will be able to apply again.
I have a shared account with my partner, can we have two Janko Loans?
No, we currently only support one active profile to be linked per Bank account, unfortunately if you have a shared account you can only have one Janko Profile linked to this.
